Founded in 2019, RunBangla International introduced Bangladesh’s first ever internationally certified distance running event. We remain fully committed to the national running community, elevating the sport through world-class, internationally certified races. Our events inspire runners of every level to push their limits, strengthen community bonds, and experience the life-changing power of running—uniting athletes across Bangladesh and the world.
RunBangla International (RBI) was founded in January 2019 by Jon Boka and a dedicated team of running enthusiasts from Bangladesh and around the world. The concept took shape over the preceding three years through extensive travel across Bangladesh, combined with planning and research in Dhaka and New York City.
Our vision has always been simple yet ambitious: to elevate distance running in Bangladesh to true international standards. As the local running community grew rapidly, passionate runners and organizers united to create professionally managed events capable of standing alongside the world’s best races.
RBI introduced AIMS certified courses, cutting-edge RFID timing technology, and accurate measurements to deliver exceptional race experiences. Beyond organizing events, we focused on building a lasting foundation for the sport in Bangladesh.
We also committed to philanthropy from the start, using running as a platform to support meaningful national causes and unite communities.
